Whittles are synonymous with local, community businesses associations and partnerships, particularly in the field of sporting endeavour and team sponsorships. We are also extremely passionate about helping the local youth pursue their sporting goals weather it’s kit and equipment sponsorship or a fist full of vocal support!

One youth we have had the privilege to help over the last few years is the very talented international BMX racer, Ross Cullen. Ross, based in Preston has been riding his BMX for around 11 years now, honing his tricks and skills on the Preston Pirates BMX track, off London Road.

Ross has had successful early success to say the least, winning the World Championships twice plus many other achievements too many to list.

The partnership began in 2016, a few months before flying out to Columbia for the World Championships where he finished an incredible second place wearing a Tissot watch and brand-new Bell Carbon Branded Helmet.

The 2017 season was a tough year nationally, racing with the elites in England but Ross managed to make the podium and consecutive finals throughout the year.  There was also a few wins in the European rounds including Zolder, Belgium day one and both days at Erp, the Netherlands and a 4th place finish in the European Championships in Bordeaux, France. The world championships didn’t end well with a crash in a qualifying place, in a qualifying race but the season ended well with a win at a French Indoor race in St Etienne, my last race in the under 16 boy’s categories.

The 2018 season will be full of promise as Ross races in the Junior man category for the first time. Whittles will continue to support Ross with protective kit and gear as he races all around the world.

The season has already kicked off with an excellent 2nd place in the Junior Mna cetgory in Caen, France.

Good luck for the rest of the Season Ross from all the team at Whittles Jewellers!

“Whittles have been great support over the last 2 seasons, I love entering the shop to see the whittle team after I have been away racing and its such a good environment to be in. It’s a real motive and I am so please that such a respectable local business is supporting me, a local athlete, to pursue my Olympic goal. “
